Missile attack kills 5 militants in Waziristan

Staff Report

WANA: At least five militants were killed and another four wounded in a missile strike on a house in South Waziristan Agency on Saturday, locals said.

The missile, which targeted the house of Noor Khan Wazir, is said to have been fired from an aircraft. The missile strike razed the house, witnesses told Daily Times. Officials were not available for comment.

It was also not clear whether those killed were local or foreign militants. However, reports suggested that at least two foreigners were among the dead.

The area is considered to be the stronghold of pro-government warlord Maulvi Nazeer, who had expelled Uzbek militants from there following several days of fierce battle last year.
